I'm trying to import some russian text to b3d as a string(s), but whenever I paste it always gives me the text as '???'. How can I enable blitz3d to deal with unicode?

FastText library supports unicode, but it's not free : http://www.fastlibs.com/libraries.php

Is there any other way?

Blitz3D is very old.

When it first came out, there were no other known languages, only English.

Hence, there is no built-in support for unicode.

Hardwired/Hybrid will/is supporting Unicode, however still very much in development stage. Might work for you already, depending what you're after and demands are.

An alternative could be a bitmap font like that :

But you'll have to write your own routine to draw the corresponding letters, and use another IDE to display cyrillic, IDEal for example.
