Do we just buy Blitz+ ?

I just finished my first little game, after having bought Blitz2D some time back... and the part about "no coding experience" required was a big part of the selling point, believe me, cos I had no experience.

So I got my (humble) game together, and tested it on some pc's, thinking backward compatibility was pretty important, but to my surprise, it had more problems on newer, more poweful systems, and it looks like it is not getting on with the latest NVidia drivers. Sprite movement is slow and jerky, and collision checking is all shot to hell.

But running the same Blitz2D code with the Blitz+ demo ( on the faster system with the new drivers ) and everything was pretty much back to normal...

If anyone wants to comment on this issue, I would be grateful, I mean is it just a fact that Blitz2D will run into these types of problems, and the hobbyist, like me, will have to update to Blitz+ to have fun with retro 2D hi-jinks?

I had the same trouble, with my old TNT2 card. I sorted it out installing old 30.82 drivers. You may have trouble finding them, if so I still have them.

thank you MadMax, I have my old TNT2 card, and the drivers on the disk have been fine...

Sybixsus, I will get rid of text and see what happens...

Yup, use either 30.82 or 41.09 drivers... IMO the best ones to use, especially with older Nvidias (<GeforceFX).

totally screw up with 2d code written in DirectX 7 ( which is what B2d uses ) especially with the Text command.
