There's some weird thing if you press F5 in the IDE but I'm not sure where the words it's suggesting there are from?

That's an OS X feature, press F5 or Option + Escape in any Cocoa app to bring up the list. The words are from OS X's dictionary. My favourite unintentional IDE feature - Spell Check!
