| You have to buy both... Not entirely true - if you don't intend writing GUI applications then you don't need MaxGUI at all. But it's cheap, so there's no reason not to have it. ;-) |

| I would recommend getting both. (BlitzMax + MaxGUI). Although if you buy them separate, there does not seem to be a penalty. So if you wanted to wait and get MaxGUI later, you could. I would also recommend learning the BlitzMax core language before jumping into GUI stuff anyway. Is there a specific Application you are thinking of making? |
