is this widget part of wxMax?

Hhi,

first: what is this gui element called? I know it from several applications but have never used one.

second: is this gui element part of wxMax? (I know it is part of wxWidgets because the screenshot is from a wxWidgets based app)

I guess you mean a property-grid?! Try wx.wxPropGrid module. There is a sample too.

By the way, I try to run the PropGrid example but got this :

I clic NO 2 times then the app is working.
Debugger is not picking it so I can't really tell what's going on.
