Is MaxGUI v1.30 totally borked?

I just installed v1.30 of the MaxGUI module and compiled my apps. and now they are completely unusable. They run at a snails pace and I get odd anomolies like all the menus totally disappearing. If I revert back to MaxGUI.Win32MaxGUI they are all fine, but using MaxGUI.Drivers is impossible. What's the deal? Is it just me getting these issues? I'm on a WinXP machine. |

From what version did you upgrade to? |

v1.28 to v1.30 I've got the menus working now with both MaxGUI.Win32MaxGUI and MaxGUI.Win32MaxGUIEx after installing the SVN version, but resizing a window still causes the app. to chugg. I've noticed someone else has already posted a bug report about that so hopefully it's being looked at. I guess I just didn't expect a simple version upgrade to brake half my existing code. |

I stopped using SVN update on MaxGUI once I got a stable release. That's one of the cons of SVN and, if my livelihood depended on it, I would never use SVN on a 'production' system. If think it's probably the double-buffer thing as well. |

I stopped using SVN update on MaxGUI once I got a stable release. That's one of the cons of SVN and, if my livelihood depended on it, I would never use SVN on a 'production' system. Well that was my problem. The so called stable release, v1.30, doesn't work correctly on my machine. I didn't want to use SVN either, but as the stable version doesn't work I have no choice. It's not much of a hardship to maintain three versions of BlitzMax on my computer so I'm prepared to let it slide. I've just been getting irritated with MaxGUI in general. I guess that it breaking my app. without me changing a single line of code just pushed me over the edge and I needed to vent a little. Think I might switch to the wxMax thingy for my next app. anyway. |
