[MaxIDE] MacOS Sierra screen open location

Community Forums/Bug Reports/[MaxIDE] MacOS Sierra screen open location

This is an interesting one... having just upgraded to Sierra...

My "Dock" is located on the right side of my second screen. Left screen is primary.

If I launch MaxIDE from the Dock, regardless of the saved window position, the main MaxIDE window will open on the right-hand screen. Previously, it would open where it was last closed.
The startup progress window always opens on the primary (left) screen.

If I launch MaxIDE from a finder window on the left screen, it opens on the left screen, regardless of where it was last closed.

Which is all a bit pants really...

:o)

In MacOS each display now seems to now an independent desktop of sorts.

Might that be a Mac issue, not a MaxIDE one?

Here on my linux box the app starts where your mouse is in the moment of "window creation".

The window managers (or whatever it is here) have options to store the "last position" information on an per-app-basis.

Relying on the window manager instead of the app, is a good thing: what happens if you have a windowed maxide on "1600, 300 with 800x600" and then you switch to a desktop resolution of "1280x1024" - you just wont be able to see your app then - if the app could move its own window.
