Intel 82865G Graphics Controller, in windowed: about 60 in fullscreen: unable to set graphics mode so yeah, my card, if it can even be called a card, sucks and it ran fine |

me neither on the full screen... my old card in this machine (GeForcefx5200) just can't make that many pixels at one time... but in the windowed mode it ran fine... i got a consistent 99 to 118 depending on whether i was facing allt he ships or one was heading away... verry niiiiice looking battlestars by the way... nice overall scene too... i felt like i was in space there :) --Mike |

P4 3.0ghz, Gfx440mx my old card in this machine (GeForcefx5200) And yet my scummy ole 64MB GF4MX440 worked full-screen flawlessly. Huh? |

Ok guys :) many thanks for test, i have re upload a more light batttleship + sound + shoot, can you retry ? because i have problems when ship shoot many bullet (i feel single surface shoot coming ...) and i have some problems with 3D bullet sound ??? after the bullet life i try to stop the bullet sound but no result ?? i will try later, for the moment i'm working on a space ship :) The older screenmode was in 1280/1024 :/ i have change this to 1024/768 for better compatibility |

Min of 95 fps and constantly shooting. I get some dodgy clipping when the sprites are close to camera? Works fine in Full Screen mode now. Stevie |

Hrmpf, you really depress me, filax xD. I'm working on a space game, too, and my space ships look by far not as good as your ones. I just don't have skill and time to make anything that could compare to your ships ^^. Well, nevertheless, nice scene. I have about 80-100 fps. (AthlonXP 3200+, GeforceFX 5700) |

Many thanks Inarie :) don't panic i'm sure that your game will be nice too ! can you post screeshot ? I would try to give you councils! my first council is : take a look for references like Eve online! or Freelancer :) If you want create nice model you MUST made many many many test (define the good choice between 3D details VS texture details), my space ship is the result of two week of brain kill ! And important, look some movies like alien, galactica , babylon 5 etc ... and starwars ;) |

Filax how do you apply the textures to your models? Do you use Unwrap3D ? |

no only 3DS max, i don't like unwrap3D (i find that a toy ...) the unwrap was made on 3 or 4 part (top , bottom, side , and others details) Use textporter to export your unwrap image, and next under photoshop , made details from unwrap. |

Hmm, I think, I can't spend that much time on spaceship design ^^. On the one hand coding takes enough time already, on the other hand I guess, I'm too lazy xD http://www.mrkeks.net/?show=artikel74 <- There you can find some screenshots, e.g. these two: I'm trying to hide, how sleasy they are, by making the space quite dark xD. Therefore you can't see every missing detail (=. But I think, it's quite easy to see, that there isn't any proper texture and that the geometry of the models is quite simple. I was quite content with the current spaceship design. But since I've seen your work I've stoped being content. I feel ike I'll have to look for a graphic artist ^^. |

Avrigus : Sure :) Inarie : It's a good start ! i find ! Maybe you can reduce HUD informations ? but why make them in 3D if you are not in the cockpit view ? Maybe i'm wrong ? but the pic seem not be in the cabin view ? Maybe a system like this is better ? ![]() |

newest ver. fullscreen: 145 fps at 28000 tris. minimum 85 fps at 29000 tris (shooting) AMD 3000+ Sempron. / 1,5GB / nforce3 / gf6800le Very nice! Remove spikes they are a bit too Homeworld for me. Shootings sounds are ok? Will the game be Homeworld or Freelancer-ish? Last thought: Dont make starwars-like ships! They look daft. |
