Hi there has anyone come across the Dx7 issue with Nvidia drivers? Just bumped into the topic here http://positech.co.uk/cliffsblog/?p=545 And was wondering if BlitzMax games are effected by this issue?

The only issues I know at the moment relate to Windows 7 + new nVidia drives + Blitz3D

Don't know if this is relevant, but I was using BMax with mini3d and also B3d. Both are Dx7 based and both gave me problems, particularly when using a lot of vertex commands. I gave up on the Dx7 and started using Xors3D which is Dx9 based and has worked, for me, faultlessly. I run Vista 64 and Radeon 4850 & 5770. Jim

yeah I can run minib3d on Linux and Mac OSX neither of them would touch Direct X with a barge pole.

Yup, sorry my mistake about minib3d. But I still say DX7 is not reliable now. DX9 does seem reliable.

install wine on windows and all will go normaly.. *lol* it is a shame the "wine windows edition bugfree release candiate" you can find only in some news-/mailgroups. By the way.. it is not so bug free.. but not least, the last way: do use opengl. The possibly easys way is to use mimib3d + blitznax.
