Hi all :)

I just take a look about Monkey. They said that we can make some apps for linux, but there is not any information about.

I wonder, can we make a linux executable with ? or witch format does monkey use to make linux app ? How does it works for linux app in general ?

Thank you in advance, and sorry for my aproximative english ;)

Speaking from my own viewpoint, I don't think Monkey is ready for linux. It uses GLFW, which is compatible with Linux, but I don't think it's setup quite yet.

I might be wrong.

Really ? why did they say that we can run some app on linux so ? :(

I'm interesting in Monkey but only if we can be able to compile and run app on linux in fact.

Where did it say anything about linux being supported by monkey? not on the official site?

Ah Now I see, there's a linux penguin in the targets list on the about page. Don't know how it could work without a version of monkey for linux though.

I don't think Linux is officially supported, but I see nothing stopping people from compiling the trans compiler for Linux. The monkey compiler can compile itself to c++, so making a Linux version of it may be very easy. I supose the real problem is more related to providing an IDE (but this is just my 2 cents).

This doesnt make Linux a target, but, allows you to build HTML5 apps on Linux!
