Made with Blitzmax + MiniB3d Special thanks to Mark Sibly, Simonh and Brucey (should add you to credits but I cannot change my entry to the competition a.t.m.) Robocoder You are in charge of a little robot named Robo. Robo can be programmed to do your bidding. At first, however, Robo can’t do much, just move forward. But by obtaining the memory pieces in the game, you can extend his memory size, making his brain grow. As the brain of Robo will get bigger and bigger, you will be able to make him do more and more complex tasks. Robocoder is an educational puzzle game that, while you are solving (hopefully) entertaining puzzles, will teach you the basics of various programming techniques like: Procedures Functions Loops Conditionals (if, then) Debugging a program Object Oriented Programming (OOP) Methods Recursive programming The programming stack I made the game during the course of four weeks as an entry for the Indie Game Maker Contest 2015 http://contest.gamedevfort.com/submission/317 and hope to get it released to platforms like Steam/gog after fixing/adding the following: - making it looks less like a "one-programmer with no design skills whatsoever" kind of game - adding more robots (OOP, Method purposes) - better, more levels - better star rating - level editor - better controls - etc. Have fun! Any feedback welcome! |
