Here are some layers I have been using to make textures. They are all original work, except for the wood beams which I got some material from one of Binary Sun's textures. These are the first textures I have ever made, so it can't be that hard. Any texture you make from these is royalty-free, both for you and anyone else. Post improvements, modifications, or new texture layers of your own. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks Halo :c) |

I'm beginning to think we're all screwed if we think we can each produce our own full set of media, but combining efforts might get us an amount equal to one of the newer games coming out. |

I agree Halo. The lack of textures and models is the only reason I am not doing 3D. Most of the "for sale" models do not fit what I need and I do not have the talent to reskin them. I can probably scooch by on most textures, as push come to shove I can make what I need or grab them with a digital camera. Unfortunately finding the time to do that is very hard. I do have a bunch of "household" type images I snagged with a camera a few years back. If I ever have the time, I will work on getting these into tilable textures and post them in a zip. I am sure a few folks could benefit from them. Some of the best I have purchased in a LONG time are from my buddy Brad. He has some awesome textures for sale, well worth the $$: http://www.spungulas.com/texture.htm Some mediocre quality textures can be bought from: http://www.spriteworks.com/texworks.html |

Most of 'today's' game textures are actuall photos... Digital cameras are fairly cheap these days.. The realism from photo textures out weight anything made by hand. With the correct tools these photos can be layered and formed into useable tileables. Plus the label on your game discription 'photo-realistic scenes!' can be impressive. :) |
