Hi, the Easter Bonus web version, delivered by igLoader, is now ready! It's limited to 1 in-game music track (instead of 5) and 8 levels (out of 110).

Have a go:

or download the full demo here:

Have fun, and tell me what you think!

I like it. The igLoader is a very cool tool!

QuickSilva(Posted 2006) [#3]
Excellent! Works really well.

Jason.

For the love of jebus Indiepath! Will you stop updating igLoader every ten minutes! ;o)

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2006) [#5]
Yeah new update today. Fixed a major issue with pluginhostctrl , damn 3rd party software rubbish!

Can't get this to run either on IE or Opera.

Opera v8.5
______________
Shows the 'Please wait .. Loading game" flash screen
Game never seems to load/start after that.
I briefly saw some window open 'behind' the flash window then close straight away. Only happened once.

IE v6
______________
After Game Loading screen I get redirected to the iGLoader problem page ..

"The application "easterbonus" has encountered a license error"

I have iGLoader 1,2,1,0 installed.
Restarted PC too.

Anyone else experiencing issues?

Hi Jim, I just got emailed your error report. I don't suppose this happens with the other games does it.

Grey Alien(Posted 2006) [#8]
Glad you like it.

Jim: Indiepath knows about my problems in IE and Mozilla.

Has anyone else founds that it runs really slowly in IE or Mozilla, like 5FPS or worse? I get this sometimes and not others, it's weird.

Here's a general description of what the current batch of games do under IE6 and Opera8.5

Opera
_______________________________

The games 'first-time' run:

- popup window shows "Game Loading ..."
- After game loads music plays and a white area appears in the window
- Closing the window stops the music (closes game)

Trying to run the game thereafter:

- popup window shows "Game Loading ..."
- Nothing happens after that

IE
_______________________________

The games 'first-time' run:

- popup window shows "Game Loading ..."
- Blitz window opens (game launched), gets 'captured' into the IE window.
- Blitz window closes
- Game music/sounds play
- Mouse activity ignored.
The mouse hides behind the game window area and clicking there plays the "Windows Default Bleep" sound.
In cBubble for example, I was unable to move/control the arrow.

Trying to run the game thereafter:

- Same procedure as above for 'first-time' run

Hope that helps.

Yup. Got one run of the game in IE.
Music played fine.
Birds, arrow moved very slowly

The game screen did not fit into the play area.
There seems to be 2 instances of the game(?)
Heres a grab ..
Note the second windowed area just offset (right/lower) beneath the game screen:

Grey Alien(Posted 2006) [#11]
Yeah the fact my game doesn't fit the window is that my game in windowed mode isn't 800x600 (it's a long story) yet the igloader frame IS 800x600. There aren't two instances of the game, what happens is it first loads up and isn't embedded into IE, and when it does finally embed, igloader doesn't clear the rest of the unused portion of the window.

As for the slow birds and mouse, I get this on mine too, but not always, it's very odd. The normall demo will run full speed and be fine. I just don't understand it.

fredborg(Posted 2006) [#12]
Yep, runs like a fart on my laptop as well. Only updates when I move the mouse, and at a maximum of 5 FPS too... In Firefox that is.

Grey Alien(Posted 2006) [#13]
must be my Blitz Code isn't compatible with igloader, always. It used to run ok until recently, bah who knows.

TartanTangerine (was Indiepath)(Posted 2006) [#14]
I don't understand this running slow lark. igLoader effectively shuts down once the game is embedded. Perhaps you could have a look at the processes and see what else is sapping the old cycles when the game runs.

{EDIT} Grey you say until recently, was that until I added the "Flash" loading screen?

Grey Alien(Posted 2006) [#15]
Well it's been slow on and off before, but since today it's slow ALL the time, since the update you made earlier. Well I haven't rebooted all day, I'll do that now. I shut down all other apps by the way to check it was OK. Task Manager said the game had 50% and Idle had 50% which is normal on an Intel system.

Kuron(Posted 2006) [#16]
I tried the download version demo and really like this game. It is a lot of fun!

Picklesworth(Posted 2006) [#17]
damn 3rd party software rubbish!

It's not PluginHostCtrl's fault, it's Microsoft's :P
We should be glad that PluginHostCtrl exists at all, because otherwise we would be forced to create alternative activeX plugins from scratch!

This is another fantastic demo... once again backed by beautiful web design.

Jim's problems with the multiple windows look like the window behind it wasn't redrawn after the Blitz app was embedded...
Edit: Oh, it's already answered :)
Well then...

Grey Alien(Posted 2006) [#18]
Today Indiepath tweak the website and all the games run at full-speed now, although the blitzPlus/3D ones don't embed on my PC.

Neuro(Posted 2006) [#19]
Really nice bejewel remake! I like the theme, and has a nice indie feel to it.

Grey Alien(Posted 2006) [#20]
Thanks neuro. It's my second match-3 and with the help of an artist and musician I was able to improve on the first and make it better in many ways.
