It looks really cool but why not call it Captain BLACKwater ? :D Too late now I guess.

Actually with a name like Captain Backwater, really it would have been good if there was some kind of comedy element with the pirate being a bit dumb cos he's from a "backwater community" type thing. As there's no comedy, Blackwater may have been better. Oh well, tis done now.

@GreyAlien: It was planned to make him a little bit dumb (in small comic strip cutscenes) - but we didn't manage to put them in the final release. Probably in a future version. Whats left is the funny look of his crew member Mr. Sleepeny on the map :)

Ah yes I recall him. Well making cuts to ship is something we've all had to do.

So true. I just finished the Linux version! I love BlitzMax - it was sooo easy to port it! ;) http://www.intermediaware.com/games/captainBackwater Now I have some time to do the trial version ;)

Looks and plays great, thanks for mentioning TimelineFX in the credits, it's a great showcase for them :)

Got around to trying this, and the first thing I notice is when changing to fullscreen it doesn't work properly. It simply puts the gamescreen in the top left corner of the screen. The rest of the screen black. Well I had to play the game in a window, and I dislike windowed games. Lovely graphics and particle effects, but a bit repetitive for me. Last edited 2012
